OUR Campus
“I believe Heaven must be a lot like Chapel Hill in the Fall."
For our delegates visiting our campus, Chapel Hill is a historic and academic haven that has lots to do, with the University being center-stage to many activities. Anyone who loves nature will love our campus. The university campus has a gorgeous botanical garden that spans nearly 700 acres. Of its many gorgeous and historical buildings, the most iconic is undoubtedly the Old Well, a neoclassical rotunda said to provide good luck to anyone who sips from its water fountain on the first day of classes. The Old Well is recognized as a National Landmark for Outstanding Landscape Architecture by the American Society of Landscape Architects.
Part of a triangle of cities deeply connected to the largest research park in the nation, we’re less than a half-hour from Raleigh and Durham. Our fully free town and University buses are free and can get you wherever you’re going throughout the weekend of the conference.
In every corner of campus, you’ll find sights and scenes that start to feel like good friends — the low stone walls and red brick walks, lush trees, native North Carolina plants and flowers, the Bell Tower chiming the hour. Wander through Coker Arboretum. Grab your first good-luck sip at the Old Well. Ponder the cosmos in our Morehead Planetarium and Science Center. Visit the greats at the Carolina Basketball Museum – there’s lots for you to do and see.
