ABOUT THIS COMMITTEE
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is the second largest intergovernmental organization after the United Nations. It serves as the collective voice of the Muslim world to ensure and safeguard their interests in economic, social, and political areas. This committee aims to tackle a crucial matter in the union, which is "Empowering Women in the Ummah: Strategies for Gender Equality and Inclusivity." Delegates will examine whether women are given equitable resources to empower themselves or if they are still oppressed by outdated policies, with the challenge of difficult scenarios that will prompt delegates to think critically and reflect on the concept of gender equality and the challenges that exist in the Ummah.
